Background:
Professor Kurup is the newest addition to GeoSpa teaching and research faculty. He has substantial knowledge and experience in various modern testing techniques (laboratory as well as in-situ) for geo-media exploration, and in the construction and monitoring performance of geotechnical systems. His research interests are in the area of constitutive modeling and numerical implementation, soil plasticity, soil-structure interaction, geo-environmental applications, calibration chamber testing, centrifuge testing, piezocone and pressuremeter testing, and developing new testing devices/methods to advance state-of-the-art practice. He looks forward to making significant contributions to the department and the university.
